A portrait of Shanghai from the perspective of New York chef Eddie Huang

-Caution: Foul Language! A portrait of Shanghai from the perspective of New York chef Eddie Huang In the first part of Fresh Off the Boat - Shanghai, Eddie ventures into the heart of the city where he meets with Qiuxiang Wang, a humble street food vendor working to live in the city on her own terms. He spends time in her home, where she's constantly making grilled skewers, grabs a midnight snack at a popular nighttime market, and gets a glimpse into what life is like for those trying to keep homegrown markets alive. http://player.ooyala.com/iframe.html#ec=hsNDV4ajq6tXPGaVi2kVfhB3jOZvR1Mj&pbid=YjMwNmI4YjU2MGM5ZWRjMzRmMjljMjc5&docUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fchinesecharacters.tumblr.com%2Fpost%2F74874349515%2Fa-portrait-of-shanghai-from-the-perspective-of-new

Why were these Chinese in a Xinjiang Hotel Fighting? News Company Asks YouTube. 7 Funny Answers.

-That is one nasty woman.

Rather than give the hotel zero stars on Yelp, these angry Chinese hotel guests took things a step further and got into a fight with staff. The incident took place at a hotel in Yining in western China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Video of the fight was captured on a hotel CCTV camera, which says the fracas started at 10:33 p.m. last Wednesday.

There's so much action happening so fast simultaneously that this video needs to be watched several times before you can really start to pick out what's going on. Two people to keep your eye on are the short dude with the stick — when will he use it? — and the bespectacled woman who steps into the fray and starts mixing it up with the men without first taking off her glasses (over here at TomoNews US always remove our glasses before engaging in fisticuffs).

Unfortunately, we have no additional information about this incident. If you know anything, shoot us an email or let us know in the comments.

Chinese Calligraphy (New Year 2014) Makeup Tutorial ~ Fables in Fashion

Chinese New Year Makeup Tutorial
Book of Fables: Chapter 104 - Chinese Calligraphy

Happy Chinese New Year!! It's the year of the horse :) I've been looking forward to this year because I have family coming down from Asia to visit for a while and I just love spending time with my family :) It's definitely one of my favourite things to do!

I was slightly unsure how to tactical this look, my trial run actually went a lot better than the finished looked, likely because the calligraphy strokes are pretty random in each instance so it's really pot luck for me! Still I hope you enjoyed the look never the less :)

HANG ON! Dashboard Camera Captures Chinese Cop Taken For 3km Ride on Car Hood!

-He should get hazard pay!

This Chinese cop is about to get taken on one ride he won't forget in a while.

Watch as he tries to pull up this car for an unspecified traffic infringement before jumping on the hood as the desperate driver makes a run for it.

The dashboard cam of the pursuing police car then captures the excitement as the driver takes the dazed cop on a one-minute, three kilometer ride through the streets of an anonymous Chinese city.

At first the cop is holding on for dear life, but as his magical mystery tour continues the brave boy in blue tries in vain to get the deranged driver to stop.

The cop car eventually manages to catch with the fleeing felon when he hits some traffic.

As yet, there is no word on what happened afterwards.

But its possible that the driver was charged with acting as an illegal taxi.

Northern China, 1999. The grisly discovery of several corpses is made in a small town. A bloody incident during the attempt to capture the alleged murderer leaves two police officers dead and another badly injured. The surviving officer Zhang Zili is suspended from duty; he takes a job as a security guard at a factory. Five years later, another series of mysterious murders occurs. Aided by a former colleague, Zhang decides to investigate under his own initiative. He discovers that all the victims were connected to Wu Zhizhen, a young woman who works at a dry cleaners. Pretending to be a customer, Zhang begins to observe her and finds himself falling in love with the reticent Wu Zhizhen. One cold winter's day he makes a horrific discovery. His life now in danger, he realises it is not always possible to separate guilt from innocence. Diao Yinan's use of the characters of the ex-police officer and the femme fatale is a direct reference to classic detective films. This director's third feature is a noirish thriller in drained colours which, whilst playfully alluding to the genre, also invites us into the lives of very ordinary people.

-Looks awesome!

Shanghai Restoration Project - Can't Get Your Love (得不到的愛情) feat. Zhang Le (張樂)

New album from The Shanghai Restoration Project
The Classics feat. Zhang Le

Design by Sun Yunfan: http://sunyunfan.com/
Mastered by Nathan James: http://www.vaultmastering.com/

Lyrics

得不到的爱情

我得不到你的愛情
I can't get your love

像冬夜裡沒有光明
Like a winter night without light

你不給我一顆痴心
You won't commit your heart to me

像黑夜裡頭找不到那蹤影
I search in vain for your trace in the night

我得不到你的愛情
I can't get your love

像春花沒有雨淋
Like a spring flower without rain

你不給我一顆痴心
You won't commit your heart to me

像夢裡春花留下一點幻影
Like the faint memory of a spring blossom from a dream

我要你的愛情
I want your love

我要你的痴心
I want your infatuation

你不給我溫馨
You won't give me tenderness

何處有熱情去找尋
Where should I seek passion?

我得不到你的愛情
I can't get your love

像冬夜裡沒有光明
Like a winter night without light

你不給我一顆痴心
You won't commit your heart to me

像黑夜裡頭找不到那蹤影
I search in vain for your trace in the night

Repeat bridge & last verse
