What inspired me?
I'm doing a 4 part project involving the 4 basic elements: fire, water, wind and earth.
So for FIRE, I chose to do ADELE's portrait...Her song 'Set Fire to the Rain' inspired me to use candles and fire as my painting materials...but why?
To me, ADELE was probably singing about the pain of a lost relationship. Rain may be a metaphor for her tears she cried, and she is setting fire to it to burn and destroy her pain. I've used blue candles to represent tears, and by setting fire to them, they melt and flow into each other, forming a portrait of ADELE.

Total Workshop Cost: $899 including 5 nights of hotel boarding*, or $699 without hotel boarding.
*The five nights are from Monday Sept 24th to Friday Spet 28th. You will share a double-Q room with another classmate. There is a $220 extra cost if you do not want to share room with another person, or you have a non-student companion or spouse; and if you want to stay longer, there is $84 per room for 2 for each additional night.
The $200 hotel cost covers five nights boarding with free breakfast, free wireless internet and free local shuttle service(within 5 miles).
The $699 Tuition includes 5 variety lunches catered from local restaurants and a home cooking demo and dinner party at the Li's house. Basic supplies used in the workshops are provided, including a free soapstone seal you can take home for the name seal workshop. The classroom rent is also paid from the tuition fees.
